In celebration of our beautiful November weather there were 3 rides last week! The weather has been treating us to mid 70’s and the bluest of skies, only in New Mexico do you get the azure skies with the golden leaves! Truly all the beautiful colors! Wednesday, Casanova, a fantastic Peruvian Paso, took me over the ridge from La Cienega and one of the steepest trails I’ve see and successfully I might add or I wouldn’t be penning this! Then over the weekend Amazing Grace, a Singlefooter took me on several amazing rides. These horses have everything going for them, amazing gait, great temperment and a great mind. Grace is just 3, only went through training in the spring and is calm and secure! All in all a very satisfying ride! The name Singlefooter came from the fact that as they show their tremendous speed, pictures will show they only have one foot on the ground; pretty darn close to flying. Some of the faster horses have been clocked 25 mph or more in gait! Check back here for information on the upcoming Amazing Gaits Farm website, featuring gaited horses.

Beautiful site. You are so active and therefore have so much to write about. I enjoy seeing anyone enjoy horses. I was never much of a horse person. I had a horse once that decided he was going to plant his two front feet, put his head down between his front legs. Of course, I took flight. I’ve never forgotten that incident to this day. More embarassing is, it was a “Barn Horse”. Don’t know if that’s a real term or not. It was a rent-a-horse that wanted to go back to the barn. Again, great site and articles too.

Hi Bill!
Thanks for your comments! That would probably turn off a lot of people getting bucked off the first time you got on! Actually I know it more as barn sour, meaning not wanting to leave its safe warm environment. There are people like that too! Riding is just like anything, a combination of learning and preparing for the worst but yet anticipating the best! Somewhat like all of life, eh?
Thanks again for your kind words!

This is really among the more appealing sites I’ve seen. It is so easy to get jaded, but there’s honestly some decent things out there, and I believe your blog is on the list!

I am a frequent reader of your blog posts. I liked the recent one and other posts on your blog so much that I have subscribed to the blog’s RSS feed in Thunderbird. Even thinking of stealing some ideas and put them to work. Keep all the good work going by posting more informative posts. Thank you. Time well spent on this post.

LOL is that what you young people would say in this cases? Hello there, i’m a 84 years old grandfather and I’ve just found this website in my browser history. My nephew used my laptop the last time he went here, I believe… he says LOL pretty often but I’ve started to undertand what it means only recently but he’s a good boy after all. Keep doing your best guys, Internet is a real blessing and you have no idea how lucky you are. Best wishes by a old man commenting for the first time
