This last weekend instead of riding the trails the gang went to see <a rel="nofollow"title="Chris Cox" href="http://www.chris-cox.com" target="_blank">Chris Cox for a workshop! Lots of great information and learning how to better communicate with your horse! It was unanimous that Chris did a great job both with his delivery of information and not talking down to the audience to actually training horses much to the audiences delight.

The first day he started a colt and was riding him within the hour. Probably the most popular was working with a 11 year old horse that was named either Ollie or Alpo depending on how he was working that day. With a history of bucking anyone who got on him he was in danger of living up to the latter. Thank goodness he left being called Ollie not Alpo after Chris rode him successfully both days! Chris really demonstrated how to handle a horse who would like to unseat his rider. Personally I will avoid horses that like to dump their riders! When I was 20 I probably wouldn’t have minded so much but I think we don’t bounce quite so well a ‘few’ years later!

But the highlight of the weekend long event was drawing Leigh’s name to win the week long training! Debra, you left too soon as your name was drawn before Leigh’s but since you weren’t there he drew another, Lucky Leigh! We’ll be looking forward to Leigh’s training as he is so generous in his passing his learning along! Congratulations!!
